World Alert: Israel’s Netanyahu fires defense minister who opposed plans to overhaul judiciary

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made a televised statement on Saturday urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt legislation that would remake the Israeli court system and allow ruling parties to handpick Supreme Court judges.
