News Alert: Transcript of Trump’s call with Ukrainian president shows him offering U.S. assistance for Biden investigation

In his July 25 phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky, President Trump told his Ukrainian counterpart to work with the U.S. attorney general to investigate the conduct of former vice president Joe Biden, a political rival, and offered to meet with Zelensky at the White House after he promised to conduct such an inquiry. The intelligence community inspector general found the call to be a possible campaign finance violation, and he and the director of national intelligence referred it to the Justice Department for a possible investigation. Officials, though, closed the matter after a limited inquiry.
