In the days ahead of his arrival at the Group of Seven summit in Biarritz, France, President Trump escalated his trade war with China, blasted Denmark for not selling Greenland to the United States, repeatedly attacked his central bank chairman, threatened tariffs against several of the G-7 nations and called for G-7 outcast Russia to be re-admitted to the group. All of this has other leaders attending the meetings concerned about whether any progress can be made or consensus struck on issues such as addressing a potential global recession, trade, climate change and Iran. The meetings are scheduled to last through Monday. |
