Jair Bolsonaro says his presidency challenges the "long-standing tradition in Brazil to elect presidents who happen to be enemies of the United States." In an interview with The Post's Lally Weymouth, the populist new leader defended his nation's former military dictatorship, saying the "armed forces are the guarantor of democracy," and he acknowledged that several of his planned overhauls could be so unpopular that he'll be unable to run for a second term.
