Facebook uncovers Iranian disinformation campaign attempting to sow discord in U.S. over Trump, immigration, other key issues

  Facebook said Friday it uncovered activity from a covert Iranian disinformation campaign which attempted to sow political discord in the U.S. over hot-button issues as race, immigration, police brutality and President Donald Trump. The social media giant said it removed 82 Facebook pages, groups and accounts for "coordinated inauthentic behavior" that originated in Iran and targeted people in the U.S. and UK.
