"I spoke to the president this morning, and he said: 'If the Syrian regime uses this poisonous gas again, the United States is locked and loaded.' When our president draws a red line, our president enforces a red line," said Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, during a Security Council meeting called for by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Haley spoke after Russia's ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, said he would ask for a vote on a resolution condemning the overnight strikes on Syria by the United States, Britain and France. Those three nations all have veto power, so Russia's resolution has no chance of passing. |
