New findings released Monday from the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change show that while the world can still meet its collective warming target, it requires immediate, sweeping action that jettisons fossil fuels. Humanity is nowhere near on track. At the current rate of emissions, the ambitious goal of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) will be out of reach within eight years. |
