News alert: Virginia removes Richmond's Robert E. Lee statue, its largest Confederate monument

Crews began removing the 131-year-old statue from its pedestal Wednesday morning. The centerpiece of Richmond's Monument Avenue was the road's last remaining Confederate memorial following a citywide movement to take the statues down.
