How this Democrat converted into a hardcore liberty warrior

In 2012, I was living in New Hampshire and supported President Obama. I started drifting away from the Democratic Party when I realized how their agenda was destroying our economy and adding TRILLIONS to the national debt. 

I also started listening a little closer to just how radical some of my college professors' ideas were, and grew disillusioned with their insistence that the American dream was dead...

Fortunately, there was a group on campus presenting alternatives to the siren song of socialism. YAL student leaders relentlessly tried to recruit me to their student organization, and I finally decided to check it out. All of a sudden, I was learning about free markets, the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, our Second Amendment rights, and civil liberties. 

I was inspired. I now knew that liberty was the answer. And I knew that if I didn't take a stand for what I believed in, I would regret it. 

That's when everything changed. I went all-in, and decided to commit my life's work to fighting for principles of liberty and restoring our Republic. And YAL was there for me every step of the way.

My story is like so many others. That's why, this year, Young Americans for Liberty is launching Project 1776: YAL's plan to recruit 100,000 new pro-liberty students to the ideas of liberty on college campuses across the country. This effort is DESPERATELY needed if we wish to grow our movement and restore our Republic!

How will Young Americans for Liberty recruit 100,000 students to the ideas of liberty on college campuses? Great question! 

YAL recruits students by hosting debates, "tabling" in student unions or courtyards and talking with students, encouraging students to stand up for their Second Amendment rights, fighting back against unconstitutional free speech codes, and more. 

It's no secret the radical left attempts to silence pro-liberty voices on college campuses… Fortunately, YAL has repealed 71 unconstitutional free speech codes on campuses across the country and is empowering our side to fight back!
