| The arrest of Gen. Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda, who has been accused of aiding a drug cartel during his six years as Mexico's top defense official, had strained U.S.-Mexican relations. In a joint statement Tuesday, the U.S. and Mexican attorneys general said the Justice Department would seek dismissal of its criminal charges and provide evidence for a Mexican investigation of Cienfuegos. |
