News alert: US carries out first federal execution in 17 years after Supreme Court clears the way

After the U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way in a 5-4 decision, Daniel Lewis Lee was executed Tuesday morning by lethal injection at the U.S. Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana.
