Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., presiding over the trial, gaveled in the proceedings at 1:18 p.m. Senate debate has now begun over the rules governing President Trump's historic trial.
If the Senate majority leader has his way, President Trump's impeachment trial will be short and quick. With swing senators in favor of this resolution, it's expected to pass.
Federal officials also announced that Chicago O'Hare and Atlanta airports will join New York's JFK, Los Angeles and San Francisco international airports where passengers from Wuhan, China, will be screened.
The company's policy appears to require groups who need special accommodations to foot the bill themselves if Amtrak must physically change the train's seating to suit their needs. Amtrak has apologized and will now accommodate the travelers at its regular $16 ticket price.
