News Alert: Nobel Prizes in literature awarded to Austrian author Peter Handke and Polish author Olga Tokarczuk

Handke was honored with the 2019 prize "for an influential work that with linguistic ingenuity has explored the periphery and the specificity of human experience," according to the Nobel Committee. Tokarczuk received the 2018 prize, which was not awarded last year. She was recognized "for a narrative imagination that with encyclopedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life," the committee said.
