World Alert: Brazilian presidential election goes to a second round as far-right candidate narrowly misses an outright win

Jair Bolsonaro, an ex-army captain often compared to President Trump, shocked Brazilians by capturing nearly half the vote in Sunday's election, after a campaign that deeply divided Latin America's largest nation along gender and racial lines. He will face leftist Fernando Haddad, who trailed, in a final round on Oct. 28.
