Politics Alert: White House team going to Singapore as scheduled despite Trump calling off U.S.-N. Korea summit this week, press secretary says

The White House "pre-advance team," led by Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Hagin, still plans to travel to Singapore for the summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un that was originally scheduled for June 12. Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders's announcement came as Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in met for previously unannounced talks to discuss how to pull off a successful U.S.-North Korea summit. "The White House pre-advance team for Singapore will leave as scheduled in order to prepare should the summit take place," Sanders said in a statement.
