News Alert: North Korea declares its nuclear test site closed after a ‘huge explosion.’ It comes weeks before the planned Trump-Kim summit.

The destruction of the testing site was a gesture designed by North Korea to show it is still willing to embark on a diplomatic journey with the United States. The move came amid questions on the fate of a planned historic summit in June between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Foreign journalists said they had witnessed a "huge explosion" at the site, in the mountainous northeast of the country, and that the North Korean officials there told them the testing tunnels had been dismantled.
