World Alert: British court upholds arrest warrant against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for skipping bail

Lawyers for Assange argued in court that an outstanding British warrant, issued after Assange skipped bail, should be dismissed because it had "lost its purpose and function" after a Swedish investigation over sexual assault allegations was dropped last year. Assange has been holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for more than five years.

Lawyers for Assange argued in court that an outstanding British warrant, issued after Assange skipped bail, should be dismissed because it had "lost its purpose and function" after a Swedish investigation over sexual assault allegations was dropped last year.
